Danish Award for Elíasson 25. september 2006 09:19 Ólafur Elíasson Ólafur og Porsche Acclaimed Icelandic artist and architect Ólafur Elíasson received the Danish Culture Award at a formal ceremony at the Copenhagen Opera House last night. This is the second time that the award, handed out by the Danish Crown Prince and Princess is awarded. Coincideantally, it was Elíasson himself who designed the award statue, which he received yesterday along with six million Icelandic kronas. Crown Prince Frederick said that the art of Ólafur Elíasson was comprised of the best factors that distinguish Northern European Art.
